I heard from an old school body man I met at a bike rally that this type of stuff was pretty common in the 60's and 70's. I don't remember how he said they did the artwork, being I don't think they had color printers back then. But he did say they would spray a tack coat of clear and stick the paper on while it was still tacky, then bury in clear. I know there are body men on the forum so if I am wrong, sorry, just what I heard.
