About TheAirbrushForum.com

Welcome to TheAirbrushForum.com. My name is Tony Davis.

I own AirbrushTricks.com and TheAirbrushForum.com.

I've been airbrushing on and off for years. When I really started to get back into it, I wanted to put some of my work and how I did it on a site, hence AirbrushTricks.

Then I started hanging out at the other airbrush forums and quickly found they were not really the friendliest of places to hang out: I heard alot of this:
  • "you shouldn't be giving out advice"
  • "hah, your work isn't that good"
  • "don't ask questions until you've searched the forum for the answer"
  • "that's a dumb question"
  • "you only have 30 posts, and I have 300 posts"
  • "your not a professional artist so you really don't know what your doing"
So I was like, fine, I'll start my own forum with these principals in mind:
  • The forum will always be free to access and post.
  • I'll build a community where everyone is welcome. Not just those that badger other members.
  • I'll build a forum that will have more features and be easy to use.
  • I'll build a forum that is backed by the latest technology available.
  • Everyone can ask questions. Especially those who are just starting out.
  • If you are stuck up and mean to others, even if you're a really good airbrush artist, you have to find somewhere else to hang out.
The funny thing is that all the big sites were like "uh oh", he actually knows how to build websites. That was 2 years ago. The website has done awesome. Then......
  • I started recognizing professional artists hanging out here that were really wiling to help. That's when I started labeling them Professionals.
  • Then I started to loose track of all the posts, so I made our most helpful members moderators.
Things have been great ever since. We have our occasional incident where some hoodlums run wild but it gets squashed pretty quick with all the great moderators here now.

What the future holds:
  • Adding new features and always updating to the newest software available. I can do this in minutes as apposed to the other sites that have to pay someone else and it takes months.
  • Upgrading to better faster servers when traffic gets bigger and better. The site is hosted with ThePlanet.com. I upgrade to the fastest servers available as the site grows.
  • I've been able to stay in front of costs with advertising only. No donations. No fees. No asking for money.
  • I always listen to all the great suggestions you guys come up with for improvements and figuring out how to make them happen.
This is a hobby for me, not a job, so as long as I'm able to pay the bills. We'll keep growing and getting better and better. The good news is, financially, I'm able to pay the bills and upgrade the site no problem right now and in the foreseeable future. So we're in great shape and growing super fast.

Welcome to all the new guys and gals.

As always feel free to contact me, contact any of the moderators, or post any questions you may have.

Welcome to the coolest airbrush forum on the planet.

Tony D.
