Airbrush compressor :-(
Hi guys.
I'm moving in to an appartment with my girlfriend soon :-) So i have to get a small airbrush compressor, which doesn't make that much noise... :-( I have always hated them, cause they are small and stupid! But now it's necessary for me to get one...
So, i wanted to hear if any of you had any experience with one that works in a good way, and doesn't pulse or anything stupid!
I've been looking at a diaprhagm compressor, which can supply 68 liters a minute. It works with a membrane instead of a piston, or something like that...
Would that work? Or should i go for something with atleast a small tank?
Hope someone can help me! :-)

Silentaire compressor, 20A
Drying paint is louder than the compressor... Small enough to not intrude in your workspace for the most part, plenty of power, no pulse or anything like that. It uses a refrigerator motor in an oil bath, very quiet.

Another for the fridge motor, the one JJ pointed out would be perfect.

and unless you build a Silentaire, you're spending $300+ to get something that is worth it. I'm in an apartment myself an have just been living with the pulsing of a Harbor Freight cheapy. I painted the bike that is in my profile with it though, so it's not all that back. It just over heats. Bear Air has a nice little compressor for under $300 and it comes with a decent airbrush too (and a small tank).

+1 to JasonJones. Invest in yourself. I have the Iwata/Medea equivalent and it is fabulous. I have run it non stop for better than 7 hours straight twice in the last week, and I rarely let off the trigger. Never overheats, never pulses, never makes noise. The spray of your airbrush is the loudest thing in the room.

Airbrushes need air to work... air contains water, water in paint not good..
That was a pretty goofy statement...
I've never had even an inkling of oil blow out of my silentaire, nor any in the moisture trap etc...
Careful offering bad/wrong advice.

That white thing there on the end of the Silentaire with the clear bowl, the knob, and the gauge... That's the oil/water seperator and the pressure regulator. It filters out the oil and water so that you can have a steady and endless supply of dry, oil free, and very silent air. It's really quite nice.

Well... This is the diaprhagm one: http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/2126/compressor.jpg
I don't know what brand it is... But it's 50db, and can produce about 68 liters a minute.
But what you are saying is that i should buy a brand compressor? Like with my airbrushes?
